Lifestyle and financial planning

This one and a half day programme is held at a luxury five star hotel in central London and is led by expert speakers addressing both lifestyle and financial planning considerations to ensure a smooth and positive transition for the next phase of life.

These residential events provide a rare opportunity to focus on the next chapter with your spouse/partner, examining the wide range of opportunities that exist, as well as offering an environment to explore this with peers from a range of industry sectors.

This programme brings together five specialist speakers including a positive psychology practitioner, a leading physiologist, a STEP lawyer, a senior financial planning adviser and a retirement consultant. As well as their individual sessions, you will also have the opportunity for one to one meetings with each speaker, should you wish.

Expert speakers

Archie Adams

Archie Adams runs his own business delivering life change courses and has been working with Close Brothers for over 10 years. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, with a wide range of specialisms from financial planning, investments and taxation to State Benefits, job search and the impact of change.

Hilda Barrett

Hilda has done pioneering work as a HR Director in blue chip and creative environments such as the start-up of Apple’s software subsidiary in Europe and Microsoft’s international region AIME (Africa, India, The Mediterranean and The Middle East). With decades of experience as a consultant, coach and leadership trainer she has developed several specialisms including the positive psychology of change.

Oliver Patrick

Oliver Patrick is an expert in lifestyle management. He speaks widely on the application of contemporary wellbeing strategies and consults to health club groups on programme development. A physiologist by background, Oliver has been instrumental in establishing professional recognition for applied physiology in the UK, working closely with professional and government bodies as well as major teaching institutions. .He now works with many senior figures, tailoring programmes and supporting them to achieve their wellbeing goals.

Lewis Edwards

Lewis advises individuals, families, trustees, businesses and institutions, both in the UK and overseas, on a wide range of tax issues. He specialises in providing advice on Wills and estate planning, tax issues relating to non-domiciliaries and cross border migration, all aspects of capital tax planning and the establishment and re-structuring of onshore and offshore trusts. Lewis read History at Pembroke College, Oxford, before taking the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. He completed his STEP Diploma in 2011.

Stephen Leonard

Steve Leonard has been with Close Brothers since 1993, providing comprehensive financial planning advice to people of all ages, from young children with trusts to retirees in their 90s. Steve has been an integral part of the Close Brothers Financial Education in the Workplace Programme since 1996, delivering over 40 seminars a year to some of the biggest and best-known companies in the UK, helping to drive financial wellbeing in the workplace with practical, real life experiences.
