At Close Brothers Asset Management we are committed to providing relevant, high quality services to you. We periodically evaluate the services offered to our clients, as we believe it is important to make sure that these services continue to meet your needs, whilst also delivering value for money.
What is happening and why
Having assessed your investments with us and the service you use, we believe that your portfolio does not need to be reviewed each year by a financial planner. We have taken into consideration various factors including the value of your portfolio versus the cost for ongoing advice, the fact that your portfolio and personal circumstances are relatively straightforward, and your general lower attitude to risk.
As we have determined that you no longer require ongoing financial advice, you are now a client of our Direct Investment Service. We have set out below some additional information about what this change will mean for you.
What this means for you
What this means is that we will no longer be contacting you to arrange an annual review of your portfolio as we have in the past, and we will stop charging you for that service, effective immediately. We would like to reassure you that this does not affect your holdings, nor does it change any previous recommendations on the funds you are invested in with us.
As you will no longer be receiving on-going financial advice, we have outlined two options available for you to choose from below - our Direct Investment Service or our online Self-Directed Service.
Our Direct Investment Service
Our Direct Investment Service is a predominantly paper based service which will allow you to manage your investments with the help of a dedicated support team, without the cost associated with ongoing advice.
As a client of the Direct Investment Service, you will no longer have a dedicated financial planner and we will no longer be contacting you to arrange an annual review of your portfolio. We will stop charging you for an ongoing advice service, effective immediately. Any future transactions you make will be non-advised transactions, which means you will be responsible for any investment decisions you make and for the ongoing sustainability of your investments for your needs.
We would like to reassure you that this does not affect your holdings, nor does it change any previous recommendations on the funds you are invested in with us.

• Telephone and email support
• Ability to view your portfolio online
• Access to download required forms
• Regular news articles and research updates via the client portal and our website
You will continue to be bound by the Close Brothers Asset Management terms and conditions, and no other aspect of your relationship with us will change.

View your portfolio online
To set up online access to view your portfolio via our online portal or mobile app, generate ad-hoc reports and to receive research updates, simply provide us with your email address and we’ll do the rest.
We understand that things change, so if at any time in the future you would like to speak to one of our financial planners, this service will still be available to you. However, a one-off fee would be charged and we cannot guarantee that this consultation will be with your previous adviser.
If you’re confident making your own investment decisions, you might consider our online Self-Directed Service
Our Self-Directed Service is a competitively priced, fully online service which allows you to carry out your own transactions and trades via our online portal, at your own convenience. You will be able to search 1000s of investments, generate ad-hoc reports, see how your portfolio is performing, and have access to a wealth of research and support material. This service is supported by our friendly Investor Support Team who are on hand to offer support but no advice is given.
Please note, to register for this service an email address is required. Although we can link family accounts for the purposes of calculating your platform fees, we are unable to offer joint accounts or Trusts – this means that each individual will have their own unique login credentials.
