Financial education services

Helping you improve employee financial wellbeing

We have more than 45 years’ experience delivering financial education to the employees of over 200 of the UK’s best-known organisations.

We offer advice and guidance to help your employees navigate the changing pensions landscape. With defined contribution pensions becoming the norm and average life expectancy increasing, we help your employees build plans to provide the income they need throughout their retirement.

We believe that financial education enables people to improve their financial wellbeing, which leads to improved productivity and better staff retention.

Our financial education programmes either can be tailored to your organisation’s needs, benefits and culture (through a combination of seminars, webinars, access to an online portal and more) or, your employees can attend one of our public seminars, held across the UK for employees from different organisations.

Responding to pension reforms

Support and guidance for all your employees

The changes introduced in April 2015 gave increased freedom to people at retirement; but, with more choice comes greater risk.

The continuing changes to state pensions, the reductions in lifetime and annual allowances, and potential changes to the way pensions are taxed are all complex issues. This means that financial education and advice are an essential tool for your employees to make informed decisions about their pensions.

Retirement support

Helping leavers make well-informed decisions

Increased longevity means that many people may spend longer in retirement than they anticipated and may run out of money as a consequence.

Increased pension freedoms mean that, without proper guidance, poor or even irreversible decisions about retirement may be taken.

Our programmes and seminars help employees to understand their choices and create an effective retirement plan, that takes into consideration their pensions, benefits and other investments. Our programmes are designed either for those who are approaching retirement or for those who have 10 or more years to go.

Trustee training

Preparing the new generation

Our Trustee Leadership Programme gives professionals of all ages the knowledge and confidence to be effective trustees, by helping them to understand the challenges charities face and how to find practical solutions. In particular, we aim to inspire young people to become trustees, as they can bring valuable new ideas and perspectives to the organization.

The sessions include expert insights from leading thinkers in the charity sector, and cover a wide range of topics including:

  • The different types of charities
  • Legal status and the duties of the Charities Commission
  • Governance and strategic planning
  • How to work with CEOs, setting objectives and managing conflicts of interest
  • Financial management, including accounts and external audits
  • Fund raising
  • Working on sub-committees and with external advisers
  • Identifying the motivation behind becoming a trustee, and practical steps to joining a board
Through these courses, we can also help introduce charities to individuals interested in working with them.

For people already involved in the UK charity sector, we run a broader educational programme and provide ongoing training. And as part of our wider service for charities, we regularly talk with entrepreneurs and philanthropic organisations, helping them with their investment decisions and advising on the most effective ways to donate.
